Based in Brussels, Belgium, Oliver Bisazza is Director, Regulatory Policy, Europe Middle East and Africa at Medtronic. He joined the company in January 2015 as part of Medtronic’s acquisition of Covidien. Most of Oliver’s prior career was in Regulatory Affairs roles in industry trade associations, most recently at COCIR, the European association for diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, electro-medical and healthcare IT products.
A dual national of Australia and Malta, Oliver has a Masters degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Wales, where his research focused on the evolution of the European Union’s legislative system and in particular its preparedness for emerging global public health threats.
In his present role, Oliver supports Medtronic’s compliance with new and changing regulatory requirements in the EMEA region, with a strong focus on the revision of the European Medical Devices Directives. He also remains active in the regulatory committees of several industry trade associations, especially Eucomed / MedTech Europe.
